In Pittsburgh, popular practices book routine cleanings weeks ahead, so call early or ask to be put on a cancellation list; emergency and walk-in clinics are the exception. Across Pennsylvania, a new-patient exam with X-rays and a cleaning typically runs from about $150 to $350 without insurance, and many offices publish new-patient specials on their websites. Check the listing for hours, whether the office takes your insurance or Medicaid, languages spoken, wheelchair access and parking, then confirm by phone: insurance networks and providers change more often than the listings do.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8 amโ€“5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

5 stars for my first teeth cleaning, and 1 star for my second cleaning. My first cleaning here about 8 months ago was great. The hygienist was very kind, patient, and gentle. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was completely different. First, I was a little concerned about hygiene. After the hygienist took photos of my teeth, I saw her wipe the machine with a disinfectant wipe. I donโ€™t know whether there are additional cleaning or disinfection steps afterward, so I apologize if I misunderstood the process. But based on what I saw, I was still concerned about whether that was enough. After the visit, I also asked whether the dental tools are changed or sterilized for every patient. She answered, โ€œOf course, yes,โ€ in a surprised tone, which made me feel like I had asked a stupid question. I think patients should be able to ask questions about hygiene without being made to feel uncomfortable. I was also uncomfortable during the cleaning. When there was saliva in my mouth, I expected the hygienist to use suction, since that has been my experience during my previous 10 dental cleanings. Instead, she told me several times that I could just swallow it. Even after I specifically said

This is the least professional medical establishment Iโ€™ve dealt with. First, they were not willing to schedule a teeth cleaning because they didnโ€™t consider me an existing patient. After I consistently repeated that I had already been there, they found me an appointment. Iโ€™m not sure why it would be a question considering Iโ€™d had X-rayโ€™s and would hope they had some documentation of my prior appointments, pretty baseline expectation for a medical practice. The day before my appointment, I received a a phone call to confirm. I confirmed and the employee said great, see you tomorrow. I then received a text message asking me to confirm. I replied and confirmed a second time. Later that evening I saw a missed call and voicemail stating they canceled my appt because I didnโ€™t confirm. I called back, asked for help, no one returns my call. After 3 other attempts, Iโ€™m giving up and finding another dentist. If I hadnโ€™t already been there, I would question if this is even a real dentist office. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else

I will not be returning to this office. I was halfway through my first appointment when I learned that there was no hygienist available. The cleaning I received (a week later) was fine. Afterwards, I received a bill via email for unexplained services. No one answered the phone when I called for an explanation. My second cleaning was just cancelled due to no hygienist available, and they were unable to reschedule when I called this afternoon. Reliable and regular cleanings are the absolute minimum I expect from a dentist's office.

Today was my first day as a patient at Chestnut Hills Dental, and I have to say - this was the best visit to a dentist I've experienced in my life. I have had terrible experiences with dentists in the past. Carly, the hygienist, immediately put me at ease. She reassured me, walked me through what to expect during my visit, was a wealth of knowledge, and talked through the feelings of anxiety I had walking in. I was treated like a person - with respect and my long-term health in mind. Dr. Sarah K Lubiejewski, DDS is top notch. By the time my x-rays and new patient items were complete, she had already created a care plan. She outlined next steps, made everything perfectly clear, and answered all of my questions. I left the exam room feeling happy. Who feels happy at the dentist's office, especially after those feelings of anxiety walking in? Mike and Belinda at the front desk are phenomenal. Belinda outlined the costs of my care plan, and got me scheduled for follow-ups. Mike answered when I called later in the day, and also worked with me to lock in other dates that fit my schedule. Remarkable customer service on all fronts. This very well may be the best dentist's office in Pit

My experiences at this location have always been extremely positive. When I first arrived, I had let Dr Bonsteel, how afraid I was of dental procedures. I was petrified. He is the most patient and extremely experienced dentist that I've ever had. He has put me at such ease that I am not afraid to have the work done that is necessary. Lisa, the technician who does my routine cleanings is excellent as well. She has made me comfortable while she does her job. The receptionists are kind and welcoming.
